Let me introduce myself: Serena of EverseenSA

The time has come to tell you about us, about the substance of EverseenSA, Charlie and Serena.

We start from me.
I am a psychologist, but first of all I am a person who dreams big. Control freak thanks to my apprehensive but sweet and curious mother, super curious thanks to the man, who will always remain the man of my life, my dad.

I was a psychologist for 10 years and it was a beautiful job, I met, helped and talked to many people, I listened to their stories and I started to wonder if what I was hoping for each of them, I did not hope for it myself: to follow one’s dreams, no matter how great they are, for fear they may do, and be true to themselves.

Four years ago, after my first time in South Africa, everything changed.
I think there are different types of travel, but one and only one will remain forever the journey of life and will be the one that will upset all your beliefs, habits and your way of thinking. It will be the journey from which you will not come back. South Africa for me was that one-way trip. Finally I understood what I wanted for my life, and that land with all its magic had to be part of it.

I realized that the purpose of my life had always been to free people from worry, to “get them out of the box” and make sure they felt unique, important and EverseenSA is the reality through which I can do all this .

Every day I wake up at 6:00 am and go out. I love the feeling of being awake before the rest of the world, I feel like I have all the time I need to do anything. Way and in the meantime I think. I think about how I can do to improve myself, my work and how to act to make the world a better place.

But I’m not the only one on this trip. None of this would have been possible without Charlie.
In 2015 we bet on each other, as we do in life, we put heart, hope and desires one in the hands of the other. Today we are more than a couple, we are a team, we work together every day to our project and the bigger it becomes, the more we are proud of it.

The biggest lesson my father left me, before leaving forever, is to remain whole with his own self and to always believe in his dreams and with EverseenSA I feel I am honoring his teaching.

Here, this is me.
